Halloween doesn't have to be a scary time for your pets with these pet safety tips!
Keep Pets Close
Take caution and keep dogs and cats indoors with you, or escort them outside on a leash. Sudden noises and strange-looking costumes can also spook your pet, causing them to run away.
Therefore, it's always a good idea to have a collar and identification (including both you and your veterinary information) on your pets.
Caution with Candy
Chocolate in all forms, raisins, sugar-free candy with the sugar substitute xylitol can be very dangerous to dogs and cats.
You can limit any chance of an accident by purchasing only pet-safe candy and keeping them out of reach.
You can give your pet natural dog treats or natural cat treats to keep them from feeling left out!
Create Calm
The noise and confusion of strangers in costumes can make many pets panic. If you can, keep your pets in a comfortable space away from the front door. You probably can't prevent them from hearing a knock at the door, or a doorbell ring, but cover noise and separation can go a long ways.
Be sure to administer CBD products before the peak trick or treat hours to help your puppies and kitties feel safe!
Costume Care
If you dress your pet up for Halloween, make sure the experience is a comfortable one for them. You can give CBD treats or CBD oil to help reactions to the clothing they're not used to wearing and probably don't understand thanks to the power of CBD aiding in sensory overload.
